Recommended Procurement and Delivery Option for Stage 1 Light Rail Transit

Regional Council would like to invite all community members to a Planning and Works Committee meeting regarding the recommended procurement and delivery option for stage 1 light rail transit on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m. at 150 Frederick Street, Kitchener in Regional Council Chambers.

As part of the Ontario Regulation 231/08 Transit Project Assessment Process, the Region’s rapid transit team is hosting three public consultation centres. Information will be available at the centres regarding potential impacts that the rapid transit project may have on the environment.

Staff presented a report on the Preliminary Preferred Rapid Transit Procurement and Delivery Option to the Region’s Planning and Works Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. 

The Regional Municipality of Waterloo (Region) is proposing a rapid transit system that connects the Region’s three major urban centres of the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo.
